The University town of Marburg is around 80km north of Frankfurt, clustering on the slopes of the Lahn valley crowned by the amazing castle. The stunning picturesque town is filled with a maze of narrow streets and beautiful medieval buildings.
In order to accommodate everyone for the welcome reception we had to change the venue from the Old University to the Hörsaalgebäude, the same site where the conference will take place. However, you still have a chance to see the Old University if you participate in one of the guided tours on April 2 or if you ask a member of the local Organizing Committee to take you there during one of the lunch breaks.
If you have registered for the guided tour you will be able to sign up for one of the following tours on-site:
The Church of St Elizabeth (cost of admission extra)
The Assembly Hall of the Old University (cost of admission extra)
Tour through the Old Town
The Conference Dinner will be held at Marburg Castle, which rises on the river Lahntal west of the city center. The castle was the residence of the Landgraves of Hessen from the 13th century to the 17th century. With stunning grounds and an impressive collection of medieval artifacts you can still see the original paving in the chapel.
The conference dinner is now sold out
